Clothing & footwear CPI in Turkiye sees lowest 51.2% YoY rise in Apr

Turkiye’s general consumer price index (CPI) rose by 3.18 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 69.8 per cent year on year (YoY) in April this year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

The April index rose by 18.72 per cent on the December 2023 figure and by 59.64 per cent on the twelve-months moving averages basis.

Clothing and footwear, with 51.2 per cent, was the main group that indicated the lowest YoY increase; education, with 103.86 per cent, had the highest.

CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold rose by 3.24 per cent MoM and by 72.72 per cent YoY in April, a Turkstat release said.

It increased by 18.58 per cent on the December 2023 figure and by 64.57 per cent on the twelve-months moving averages basis in the month.
