Scope of the congress:
The ambition for achieving a civilisation model based on sustainable development like the more and more stringent environmental issues motivates the chemists for developing novel products derived from natural resources.

These new products must fulfil several criteria inherent to the 'environmental friendly' concept such as being hazardless for human being and environment and being produced by safer processes that must be moreover less energy consuming while generating less wastes.

This congress entitled A greener chemistry for industry (GCI 2007) is in full agreement with the aforementioned context and will deal with these issues through two themes: « Valorisation of vegetal resources » and « Clean processes ».

This congress, with a multidisciplinary vocation, is more specifically centred on the development of new methods of synthesis, on the modification of the formulation of molecules and of polymer materials as well as natural composites issued from vegetal, and on processes designed for lowering energetic and environmental impact.

The GCI 2007 congress will be held in Villeneuve d'Ascq, North of France, at the University of Sciences and Technology of Lille, from the 2nd to the 5th of October 2007. This scientific event will be an excellent occasion for depicting the state on the art on green chemistry and agri-resources (1st day), performance materials (2nd day), and sustainable technologies and clean processes (3rd day).
