Indian Fashion rocked Washington DC Fashion Week

Who could have believed that Indian fashion could charm mainstream fashion audience in the heart of Washington DC? Yet the crowd was wowed and the photographers went crazy when the gorgeous models walked the ramp for Indian designer Parna Ghose of Pure Elegance at the Washington DC Fashion Week Spring/Summer Collection 2012 at the French Embassy.
Since its inception, the DC Fashion Week finale has been the not-to-be-missed International Couture Show, featuring more than 100 diverse models. This event continued its tradition of bringing outstanding collection of talented designers from around the world, attracting a large global media presence.
This year's show featured many outstanding designers including Indian designer, Parna Ghose of Pure Elegance. Parna aptly blended traditional Indian wear with more casual, contemporary evening wear. The fabrics used were silks, georgettes, chiffons, and nets embellished with ethnic craftwork and cutwork of velvet, embroidery, antique work and metal work.
