Splash launches French fashion label ELLE SS'13 collection

With high-street retailer Splash launching the SS’13 collection of French fashion label ELLE, the collection, yet again, features this season’s most popular and chic pieces available for both ELLE Women and ELLE Homme.

It’s about the perfect blend of romance and power for the women of ELLE, right from flowy dresses to structured blazers. The two highlights to watch out for are Aqua and Solar Romance. Aqua takes inspiration from the classic movie ‘An affair to remember’ as the 50’s inspirational silhouette and pure whites make a comeback. Soft pastels are modernized by black flashes while the brightness of pink is moderated with soft mint and beige. Skirted dress-shirts and contrast sports collars with pleats provide subtle twists to the silhouette and at the same time display sophisticated dynamism.

Making a smooth transition towards solar romance, a very modern, frosted-cold Gold becomes the key ingredient to blend the right recipe of brightness and skin color beige. Slim designs and flounced tops are casual chic and if worn in shades of yellow, will definitely be a head turner. Pair a straight coat or geometrical tunic in shaded tones with a pair of flat shorts for a fun, flirty look. Women can definitely look to endow their wardrobe this season with ELLE’s color trending, signature pieces.

ELLE Homme is a line that is known for its flair of sophistication and romance with hints of adventure and fun. Taking these traits to the forefront is the Explorer-inspired collection of earthy tones with khaki’s, sophisticated greens, dense indigo’s, blacks and white. A wink to timeless dandies and the seducers of the 30’s to chic hippies and rock stars on holiday.  Natural materials become sophisticated, linens and cottons are combined with silk and viscose and bases are relaxed and blanched. Men can pair a structured blazer over a tie-dye shirt and trousers for a macho, relaxed look.

Picture a hotspot in the south of France, in the 60’s, where a typical Mediterranean village is filled with French film stars. Sporting pastels, whites, blues and reds, their style is impeccable and surely inspires the sun-kissed trend in the collection. Refined pastels of pink and blue evoke a French dandy spirit while bright and tart colors evoke a sporty, nautical feel.
