Dutch expert to raise India Fashion Week to international level

London Fashion Week considered as one of the top four global shows owes its position to the untiring efforts of a Dutch designer Wolter Dommers, who has been signed on for staging Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

The fashion week has been organized by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and is scheduled to be held from April 5 to 9.

Wolter Dommers' Britain-based event management firm S2 which has been associated with the London Fashion Week for 20 years has the support of designers like Gianni Versace, Vivien Westwood, Jean Paul Gautier and Donna Karen as clients.

Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) stated that after six shows the time is ripe to turn the fashion show into an international-grade event.

Some 80 designers are expected to participate in India Fashion Week which include names like Abraham-Thakore, Abu-Sandeep, Ashima-Leena, Deepika Gehani, J.J. Valaya, Manish Arora, Raghvendra Rathore, Rina Dhaka, Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi, Satya Paul and Tarun Tahiliani.

Designers will showcase their wares in an innovative way by having two ramps where as garments and accessories are to be displayed in a specially designated trade stall area.

Fashion week has to satisfy various needs of the people who attend it such as a designer shows clothes, clothes have to be sold, so buyers have to be there, press has toclick great pictures.
