Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, the national chamber for Italian fashion, has taken some reformatory measures to revitalize the fading glory of Italy’s biggest international fashion event Milan Fashion Week.

The non-profit association which controls, co-ordinates and promotes the country’s fashion industry has appointed a group of new fashion council members who would try to revive the image of the event through personal involvement and financial support.

The council’s newly recruited members include some of the leading Italian fashion professionals, such as Diego Della Valle (Tod's chief), Angela Missoni, Stefano Sassi (CEO, Valentino), Patrizio di Marco (chairman and CEO of Gucci), Renzo Rosso from OTB and designer Silvia Venturini Fendi.

In addition to the list of members, Patrizio Bertelli, from the Italian fashion house Prada, has been named as the deputy vice-president of the newly elected council, which will stay in the office till the year 2016.

For the past few seasons, the once booming Milan Fashion Week is losing its momentum compared to fuller schedules witnessed at London and Paris fashion weeks.
