Georgina Vendrell's Eclectic line opens 080 Barcelona day2

Designer Georgina Vendrell opened the second day of ongoing 080 Barcelona Fashion with her latest Spring/Summer 2015 menswear collection titled Eclectic.

Mixed with both classical and contemporary elements, the line was replete with synthetic leather cotton twills, poplin and circular knitting. Based on a palette of blue, beige, white, vanilla, mint and navy, the range included long shirts, shorts, bodysuits and oversized waist-coats.

Inspired from the concept of abstract art, the Barcelonan designer Guillem Rodriguez created his Manifesto collection. Replete with technical fabrics and abstract prints, the range featured several quirky womenswear-style male garments in shades of black, off-white, acid yellow and ink, ocean and sky blues.

Knitwear fashion brand Escorpian’s creative head Sybille Horaist Gramaglia presented a cool and comfortable line entitled Cabinet of Curiosities. Based on hues of blue, white and gray, the collection, which included side slit tops and asymmetric dresses, was adorned with animal, flower and Oriental prints.

Totón Comella, the designer behind the Catalan firm TCN, drew inspiration from the 1970’s bohemian culture for her latest womenswear range. Made from silk and cotton, the line displayed bikinis, trikinis, straight pants, poplin shirts, blazers and denims teamed up with wide brimmed hats.

Designer Justicia Ruano highlighted a collection meant for the modern cosmopolitan women. Crafted from organza and guipure lace, the featured ensembles, such as tulip skirts, dresses, pants, tops and a red tuxedo, were based on three-dimensional geometrically abstract forms.

Fashion label Menchén Tomàs, from designer duo Olga Ronquillo Menchén and Francesc Grau Tomàs, drew inspiration from floral botany for their latest The Botanist range. Based on volumetric silhouettes, the dresses and skirts were enhanced with prints of flowers and petals as well as frilly details.
