Cosmetics Org keen on promoting exports to US

ABIHPEC has also promoted business rounds with North American importers, distributors and brokers at the APEX-Brasil Distribution Center, in Miami

The United States accounts for about 20% of the world CT&F industry market, making it an extremely promising destination for these products. Ever since ABIHPEC (The Brazilian Toiletry, Perfumery and Cosmetic Association) has settled its partnership with APEX-Brasil (Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the entity has promoted the participation of the Brazilian companies in several events at the US.

Based on this experience, ABIHPEC came to the conclusion that it had to create mechanisms to facilitate the structuring of these companies in the US in order to increase the competitiveness of the Brazilian products and create new opportunities in several market niches.

One of the strategies devised by the association to achieve this goal was to promote a business round between Brazilian companies and North American importers, distributors and brokers. The venue chosen was the Miami Free Zone in Florida, where the APEX-Brasil Distribution Center is located.

From July 10-13, twenty North American companies took part in pre-scheduled meetings with Brazilian businessmen. The meetings were organized to best match the profile of the parties by a match-making scheme designed by ECRM (Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing).

Other plan created in order to better prepare the companies for their trade contacts in the US was an additional program with seminars in Brazil and in Miami. Well-equipped by the information provided, the businessmen are able to select the best products to be presented at the trade show and to prepare their commercial strategy with more targeted focus on the North American market.
