Floris van Bommel & Timberland “Cool Stuff” is how Floris van Bommel, junior boss of traditional Dutch manufacturer van Bommel, describes the styles now produced in cooperation with the US company Timberland from New England. The cooperation is built to last.
For the 2009 Spring/Summer season the first joint-venture pieces – initially only for men – will simply be called “Floris van Bommel & Timberland”. The look is a hybrid comprising the best of both brands: urban and modern, suitable for every age.
The styles are produced at Floris-van-Bommel's proven manufacturing sites in Portugal. At GDS the line will be displayed in a specially created Corner at Floris-van-Bommel's funky stand.
The distribution and launch are handled by Timberland. Van Bommel shoes have been in existence since 1734. This Dutch family business is managed by the ninth generation, brothers Floris, Reynier and Pepijn van Bommel.
The traditional company manufactures three lines: pure luxury is offered by the Noble Blue styles made by hand involving over 300 individual steps.
The van Bommel collection features trendy luxury shoes with attitude while the Floris van Bommel line stands for hip men's and women's styles.
Fossil For Spring 2009 accessories producer Fossil will launch a sporty footwear collection for men. In Autumn 2009 a women's line is to follow. The aim is to establish Fossil shoes as a new, exciting collection on the market.
The line will be launched in Germany and the USA at the same time. At the forthcoming GDS the styles will be presented to the public for the first time. The shoes are designed in the USA along the lines of the “Modern Vintage” concept.
