Jil Sander launches S/S limited edition of jewellery with Damiani

The Jil Sander Group announced today to launch a limited edition of jewellery together with Damiani, one of the most renowned Italian jewellery manufacturers worldwide. This collection will be presented today together within the show of the new Spring Summer Women Collection 2009.

For the Spring/Summer Women Collection 2009 Raf Simons created together with the Damiani team a limited collection of earrings and bracelets. The design reflects the collection's atmosphere of combining elaborate western jewelry techniques with African tribal aspects.

The materials comprise yellow, pink and white gold in different surface treatments as well as precious stones such as diamonds, aquamarines, amethysts, smoky quartz, topaz or onyx in various cuts and Tahitian pearls.

The entire collection has been produced by the Damiani Group in Valenza, Italy, a small town famous for its goldsmiths, which is worldwide considered a centre of excellence for jewellery production.

“Even if Jil Sander is considered as the brand of purity, I feel a big excitement and challenge to create a product category such as jewelry that is not typically seen as Jil Sander. I am convinced that there are no limitations to enter new areas for the brand as long as we can create these items in the very specific Jil Sander style – sophisticated, luxurious and ultra modern”, states Raf Simons.

This specific limited collection presented in the show today is being developed in collaboration with Raf Simons, Creative Director of Jil Sander. The design and palette will reflect the sophisticated and luxurious world of the JIL SANDER brand and will debut at retail in March 2009 and will be sold worldwide in Jil Sander stores, select department stores and specialty stores.
