Pitti Bimbo N.71 - the innovations, the sections, the figures

An increasingly contemporary image for Pitti Bimbo, the only international fair that offers a 360° view of the world of children's fashion, presenting all the different styles – from the sportswear of SportGeneration to the classic-elegance of the big names at Pitti Bimbo, from the creativity of the independent brands at New View and EcoEthic, the street couture of SuperStreet – but also design items and textiles for the little ones, up through the avant-garde collections at Apartment and the latest lifestyle accessories in the Pop Up Stores.

Amongst the new features and special projects – there will be 108 new names and returns at this edition - we should mention the children's fashion debut of the prestigious Fendi brand, the absolute preview of the Hackett London kids line, the launch of the new Hitch-Hiker project from Monnalisa, the return of brands such as Patrizia Pepe, B Lav, 7Teen and Brooksfield Junior, plus the new entries of children's collections from names like Re-Hash, Daniel Cremieux, Pineider, Ash, Naturino and Manila Grace.

The new layout of the Main Pavilion of the Fortezza that was unveiled at Pitti Uomo, curated by one of the top names in design and contemporary architecture, Patricia Urquiola, will also be coming to Pitti Bimbo in June. The Main Pavilion will be reinterpreted and enriched by a broader range of proposals that reflect the new lifestyle paths characterizing children's fashion. This will be a totally new concept for Pitti Bimbo, a new style of exhibition and encounter, with a more open stand arrangement to enhance the dialogue between the different merchandise categories. In particular, a special selection of products and accessories – from fragrances to books to furnishing accessories – will be presented in the Pop Up Stores that will be offering even more surprises. The new brands at this edition's Pop Up Stores will include: Andrea Ventura Firenze, Baby Smell, Babybouquet, Corraini Edizioni, Dad Crown, Douuod by Pantofola D'Oro Funfam, Hannspree_Hannsg, Ooh!* Concept, and Pappine.

Who is On Next? Bimbo: the first edition scheduled for January
In June 2010 Pitti Immagine will hold the press conference announcing the first edition of “WHO IS ON NEXT? A PITTI BIMBO”. This is the first ever competition – to be held in January 2011 - seeking new talents in the world of children's fashions, and will be produced by Pitti Immagine, Vogue Bambini and Alta Roma.

Change is coming to New View too, with a totally revamped look featuring more open spaces, more communication among the products and the new “Full Bloom” layout – a landscape suspended amidst natural, floral elements and modular shapes – designed by the architecture and graphic design studio dotdotdot. The location is Hall M on the lower level of the Main Pavilion: this is where to see the high creativity collections and the innovative brands for a demanding audience, and it's also the place for experimenting with children's fashions and how they are marketed. The brands participating at this edition include: Erfurt Luxury Accessories, naelie, nelly stella, Prodottonaturaleitaliano, and Submarine Ecoethic.
