An increase of almost 12% in registrations compared with the same period in 2012, and still three months from the opening! ApparelSourcing Paris is demonstrating very healthy growth and remains a showcase for international sourcing with new registrations from Europe, Asia and North Africa.

The trade fair will assemble almost 200 exhibitors at its next session this September, from the 16th to the 19th.

In terms of diversity of exhibitors and variety of products, the exhibition’s role as the foremost platform for European sourcing is underpinned by an offer that is formed by 50% Chinese exhibitors, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, and 50% exhibitors from Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, India, Pakistan, Sweden, Turkey and Vietnam.

Healthy growth in Indian participation is worth noting, which makes this country now the 2nd largest exhibitor. As to the spread of product ranges, womenswear still accounts for the greater share, menswear accounts for 30%, childrenswear 8% and accessories 10%.

A preview of selected new global manufacturers follows a selection of some new manufacturers according to product family.

Shirting - SAP Apparels, India, launched in Bangalore just six years ago: this manufacturer has an appealing line with its mid-range shirts, solely for menswear, in fine fabrics with sophisticated finishing. Large production capacity; materials and accessories are sourced locally.

Accessories - B.B.K Textile Mills, India: scarves remain a must have accessory and this manufacturer from Amritsar is sure to attract buyers in search of imaginative collections! It offers a profusion of scarves and shawls in prints and superlative embroidery – all the traditional Indian skills for exquisite scarves and shawls. There are also jacquard patterns made on the most advanced machinery, for those who are looking for more understated models, in particular for men. Prices range from average to premium.

- Krishna Beads Industries, India, founded in 1970: this company from Mumbai with BSCI and Sedex certification, manufactures bags, jewellery and scarves, which showcase the traditional Indian skills like embroidery, hand crocheting and woodblock printing.

Captivating collections, very fashionable and aimed primarily at fast fashion and entry-level to mid-range. Where production is concerned: up to 1 million articles per month for fancy jewellery and 500 000 articles per month for scarves.
