Specialty retailer Pacific Sunwear releases Aug sales

Everyday casual apparel retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc reported the total sales for the four weeks of fiscal August, ending August 27, 2005 were $175.7 million, an increase of 10.9 percent over total sales of $158.4 million during the same period last year.
Total Company same store sales increased 2.6 percent during the same period. By concept, PacSun same store sales increased 3.2 percent and d.e.m.o. same store sales decreased 3.1 percent compared to the same four week period last year.
Total sales for the first seven months (30 weeks) of fiscal 2005 were $764.8 million, an increase of 13.1 percent over total sales of $676.1 million for the same period last year. Company same store sales increased 3.0 percent during the same period with PacSun same store sales up 3.3 percent and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 0.8 percent.
