As the real estate is flourishing, the market for home furnishings is growing like never before.
Life style of the people is changing and the focus is not merely on owning the property. People today don't mind spending on decorating the interior.
More and more retail players are getting into home furnishings, first Neelkamal, Pantaloons, Welspun and now its Shoppers' Stop.
Shoppers' Stop has recently come up with a home store concept called 'Home Stop' in Bangalore.
Chiefly an apparel and lifestyle segment, Shoppers' Stop is venturing into home furnishing considering its potential.
BS Nagesh, Managing Director and CEO, says that the home sector is rapidly gaining popularity, whereas increasing demand for 'one-stop' shopping cannot be ignored.
Nagesh also adds that there are only few players entertaining the home store category, as a result of which there is an imbalance of demand and supply. Their company aims at reducing this gap.
The company will invest around Rs 7-9 crore on each store, which includes the costs of stocks and store renovation.
The home concept store will offer home consultancy services for home making and concept buying. There will be a real estate/finance corner, which will assist customers with property hunting and financing.
The store will be spread across 30,000 sq ft, and will house Indian as well as international brands such as Corelle, Fern, Hunter Douglas, Ivy, Magpie, Portico, Philips, Stop and Spaces, Tommy Hilfiger, Morphy Richards, Welspun.
