Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic signed an agreement concerning incentives for investors with two companies Elrad WS and Gruppo Fiorentino, which will lead to 110 new jobs.
Dinkic said at the occasion that the Italian company Gruppo Fiorentino will expand and modernise existing facilities for textile production and employ 60 more workers from Vlasotince.
The Minister explained that the company has received €300,000 for this project, through the programme for financial support for investors, which is being implemented by his Ministry and the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA).
Gruppo Fiorentino received a €5,000 incentive per employee, which is the maximum incentive amount for the textile industry, he noted.
He announced that Gruppo Fiorentino will complete the expansion of production by the end of March next year and Elrad WS by the end of next year, adding that both companies are satisfied with their employees in Vlasotince.
He invited other investors to invest in the municipality, where thousands are unemployed.
Minister of the National Investment Plan Verica Kalanovic said that during the last five years infrastructure in Vlasotince has improved significantly but a lot of work remains to be done so that the economy returns to normal and people can have a normal life and employment.
Priorities in the next year will be to reduce the danger from flooding and work will done on infrastructure development, which will create conditions for the economy to function better, she pointed out.
Dinkic and Kalanovic began their visit to the municipalities of Vlasotince and Leskovac with a meeting with Vlasotince municipal president Srdjan Susulic.
Later they will tour construction works near Leskovac, which are being carried out as part of the Let's Build Together programme of the Ministry of the National Investment Plan, being implemented in cooperation with the European Investment Bank and local authorities.
They will also visit the office of the Falke company in Leskovac and meet with Mayor of Leskovac Slobodan Kocic.
