The analysis based on data from Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro revealed that Bangladesh exported apparel worth $39.726 billion during April 2021-March 2022. Trousers and shorts were the most dominant apparel items for its export revenue. The country had exported the items worth $13.404 billion which was 33.74 per cent of the total apparel export earnings during the period under review. Other major apparel export items of Bangladesh were T-shirts (16.69%), jerseys (14.58%), shirts (8.86%), innerwear (5.44%), babywear (3.40%), dresses (2.86%), nightwear (2.11%) and coats (1.60%).
China’s total apparel exports earnings were $160.160 billion during April 2021-March 2022. Trousers and shorts were the most dominant apparel items for export from China. The country had exported trousers and shorts worth $29.578 billion (18.47% of the total) during the 12-month period. Other major apparel items that contributed to China’s export income were jerseys (13.36%), jackets & blazers (9.96%), dressed (6.61%), innerwear (6.39%), T-shirts (5.69%), accessories (4.52%), socks (4.15%), shirts (3.27%), nightwear (2.69%) and coats (2.41%), as per data from TexPro.
India had total apparel export $15.858 billion during April 2021-March 2022. Shirts were the most dominant apparel items for export from India. The country exported shirts worth $2.582 billion (16.28%) during April 2021-March 2022. Other major apparel items that contributed to Indian export were T-shirts (15.15%), dresses (13.13%), trousers & shorts (12.59%), babywear (7.90%), nightwear (5.46%), innerwear (4.49%), accessories (2.79%) and jerseys (2.74%).
