Chinese exports of natural fibre textile products received a setback in the first four months of the current year.
Exports of these products fell 12.6 percent year-on-year between January and April. Hong Kong, Vietnam and Europe account for 36 percent of all natural fibre textile products imports.
Of these three regions and countries, exports to Hong Kong and Europe decreased significantly, while to Vietnam continued to grow.
China’s exports of natural fiber products to Hong Kong and EU registered US $1.02 billion and $630 million, respectively, down 17.8 percent and 28.4 percent year on year.
Exports to Vietnam scored $680 million, an increase of 4 percent from a year earlier.
