In an initiative organised by the Selectiva Moda Association, under the From Portugal internationalisation project, with support from Compete and from NSRF, 18 Portuguese companies are travelling to Colombia to attend the largest event in Latin America.
In Colombia for the first time, Impetus is taking to Colombia Moda its main trends for Spring/Summer 2014 in Underwear and Beachwear. Impetus Underwear has found inspiration in the colour, positive attitude and freshness of Brazil and its culture.
A diversity of colours and an approach with younger spirit, micromotif geometric prints, nautical patterns and varied stripes, from the thinnest pinstripe to wider colourblock styles.
Its beachwear collection is full of colour, prints and practical solutions for the beach or swimming pool. As in its previous collections, Impetus presents functional solutions in beachwear, such as Rapid Dry, a treatment applied to the fabric for beach shorts that improves its hydrophilic properties, by dispersing water drops, lowering their concentration and reducing the normal drying times.
Impetus has added to its collection of beachwear basic t-shirts in a range of colours that coordinate with the beachwear. “The interest of this trade fair derives from the business that Impetus currently has in Colombia. This is a rapidly expanding market and it is quite attractive in commercial terms. Colombia Moda is a very interesting event, providing contacts not only with the Colombian market, but also with every other market in South America”, says Luís Mota, the company’s Director of Sales & Business Development.
Another brand making is debut in this market, MAD DRAGON SEEKER, will present a collection that respects the brand concept and includes light and fluid garments, lots of prints, a very colourful palette of colours, and washed and strongly dyed jeans.
Highlights are the textures of the knitwear, fabrics, twills and their finishes and the presentation of “Push Up” jeans with a new shaping effect to enhance women’s figures. “The choice of this market is due to the fact that we are talking about markets that are quite different from Europe, the timing of collections and seasons is different and this way we have an advantage in the production process”, explains Daniel Simões, the company’s Marketing & Sales Director.
