Eastern Silk Industries Ltd, established in 1946, is the leading exporter of silk fabrics. It is present across the entire value chain: from yarn (from silk waste) to basic fabrics to designed fabrics to embroidered fabrics to made-ups. It caters to the specialised requirements of furnishing companies and fashion labels.
The company has been recognized as a Golden Star Export House by the Government of India. Sales are mainly from export markets. US and Europe account for about two-third of the company's exports. Other export destinations comprise Australia, Middle East, Far East, etc.
