Zhangjiagang textiles & light industry exports set new record

Since the beginning of this year, despite the continuing appreciation of Yuan (RMB), lowered export tax rebate rate and other unfavorable factors, Zhangjiagang region still maintains a rapid growing momentum in exports of textiles and light industrial products.
According to statistics from Zhangjiagang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, from January-November 2006, the total exports of textiles and light industrial products in Zhangjiagang region earned US $287.65 million, representing year-on-year growth of 15.1 percent, setting a new record in history.
