Seoul takes measures to promote fashion industry

Yesterday, authorities in Seoul City declared measures to promote fashion industry that would place it to top five cities of the world.
The measures to promote fashion industry include construction of design media city of Sangam-dong and design world plaza near Dongdaemun.
Administration would also set-up a database of all information related to fashion industry in Seoul City.
Scholarship will be provided to encourage competitive designers and a festival 'Seoul Design Week 2007' would be conducted to hold exhibition and international meetings on designs in October 2007.
To attract more foreign tourists, a fashion show featuring 'hallyu' stars will be conducted in early May.
As per the estimates, city will attract about 12 million more tourists by 2010.
