West meets South at handicraft mela

An exhibition of Gujarat handicrafts and handlooms is organized by Development Commissioner of Handicrafts under the Ministry of Textiles of Union Government, began at Sarada Krishna Iyer auditorium in Thalassery, Kerala on April 4.
The exhibition-cum-sale showcases handicrafts and hand printed items from Gujarat such as colourful dresses, leather bags, purses, puppets made of wood and jewelleries.
Dress materials and bed sheets from Rajasthan, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, embroidered saris from Lucknow are also available here.
The exhibition will continue till April 15.
