According to the Minister, India and the US governments realize that the development of strategic partnership in areas of infrastructure, information technology, telecom, energy, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology are key areas for both the countries, said Mr. Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, earlier at the meeting.
According to the Minister, the Private Sector Advisory Group (PSAG) - a new initiative of the US India Trade Policy Forum - will comprise of prominent US and Indian International Trade experts.
The body will act as a mechanism to promote communication between the Trade Policy Forum, the private sector and other stakeholders, he added. The minister mentioned that USA is India's largest trade partner and foremost export destination accounting for 16.83% of India's exports and around 6.34% of India's import and the trend of increased trade volume continues.
