According to KTO report, Turkey's export in textile is increasing in the face of input price rise, equity capital disability and lack of research & developement.
The textile sector, which is impetus for industrial and economic growth of Turkey, constitutes major part of total exports.
Report reveals that Turkey's textile export is mostly targeted to European countries. The sizable chunk of export goes to countries like Germany (26.5 percent), England (16.3 percent), France (6.6 percent), Netherlands and Italy (4.2 percent).
According to the report, Turkey's export has been increasing since 1998 (US $2.631 billion) In 1999 it reached $2.565 billion, in 2000 $2.590 billion, in 2001 $2.867 billion and increased in 2005 to $4.860 billion and in 2006 to $5.576 billion.
As the textile export increased by 14.7 percent in 2006 compared to previous year, it is expected that exports will increase more in 2007.
