BASF received a best supplier award from its customer, Yutian Group Co, Ltd, in Shanghai, China. The company grants this award in recognition of many years of close cooperation between the two companies. Since the mid-1990s, BASF has been supplying several intermediates for the manufacture of polyurethane products (PU products) to the Yutian Group.
These products include butanediol (BDO), dimethylformamide (DMF) and polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF). Yutian is one of China's largest producers of shoe soles and synthetic leather made of PU to meet the growing needs of the global markets of finished goods.
The two companies have steadily expanded their cooperation in recent years, achieving annual growth rates of about 50 percent.
Wu Ruzhou, CEO of the Yutian Group, underlined: “BASF is one of our major suppliers. This award shows how much we appreciate our close long-term partnership with BASF, a company that accompanied and supported us on our way to becoming the market leader.” Ruzhou added: “We benefit every day from BASF's experience and expertise.”
James Wang, Director Chemicals Division, BASF Greater China Ltd, said: “We are impressed with the rapid expansion of the Yutian Group. Our customers' success is our success – we are therefore very pleased that our partner is awarding us this honor.”
BASF is the only company in the world that, based on its unmatched portfolio, offers the full range of intermediates needed for making PU, an extremely versatile material: highly efficient catalysts, polyols, additives and solvents.
