AAMA-TEX 2007 - successful presentation in March

AAMA-TEX 2007, the 7th Asia Apparel Machinery & Accessories Exhibition (Incorporating Textile Machinery & Accessories and Leather Machinery & Accessories) held a successful presentation in March. The exhibition concluded on a high note with sales volume hitting a high of S$31.2 million and foreign visitorship breaching the 60-percent mark.

The exhibition attracted 3275 visitors from 52 countries and regions, with the majority of visitors coming from garment manufacturing powerhouses in the South and Southeast Asia regions. Malaysia took the lead with 14%, followed by Indonesia (10%), Sri Lanka (9%), India (8%), Bangladesh (7%) and Thailand (3%).

AAMA-TEX 2007 also welcomed visitor delegations from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. In a visitor survey conducted during the exhibition, an overwhelming 73 percent expressed their intention to visit AAMA-TEX in 2010, while 64 percent indicated that they would make purchases or place orders as a result of visiting the exhibition. Some 60 percent expressed satisfaction with the overall quality of the show.

Says Mr Benny Pua, President of Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore), “The quality of visitors to AAMA-TEX 2007 has definitely gone up. I think a large part of this is also due to the fact that we are seeing more exhibitors from all over the world at the show. Many people are eager to view the show, not just to see the latest display of machinery, but also to build up their network of contacts, and AAMA-TEX provides an excellent opportunity for them to do so."

"Many exhibitors have reflected that they are meeting people they have never met before, and these new contacts have a lot of potential. We find this extremely encouraging, and believe that AAMA-TEX will continue to be the must-see trade show in the region.”
