SPS Commerce, a leading trading partner integration center offering fully outsourced Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Catalog functions, announced that Hancock Fabrics Inc, a retail merchant of fabric and related home sewing and decorating accessories, has selected SPS Commerce's outsourced EDI and vendor enablement services to exchange order, invoice and shipping documents electronically with approximately 300 of Hancock Fabric's vendors.
Upon completion of the program this summer, Hancock will have replaced its manual order process with a centralized, automated order cycle using a number of EDI transactions. The enablement program was launched on May 24, 2007, with a webcast to its vendors announcing the program details.
“By outsourcing our EDI and vendor enablement to SPS Commerce, Hancock Fabrics is continuing its path towards a centralized, data-rich environment by replacing our manual processes,” stated Jane Aggers, President and CEO of Hancock Fabrics. “Integrating order, invoice and shipping information with our vendors should help us to provide improved visibility to orders and inventory, efficient communication of changes, and reduced errors across our supply chain. We have engaged SPS Commerce to leverage their expertise, technology and staff to help us to make this supply chain automation successful for us and our vendors.”
“We are pleased to have been selected by Hancock Fabrics to perform their EDI operations and enablement program,” commented Archie Black, President and CEO of SPS Commerce. “It is our pleasure to work with their vendors one-on-one to see that the EDI connection is a rapid and simple solution for all, whether they select to test their existing EDI system or use one of our outsourced EDI services.”
