Yorkshire industries get boost in two textiles buyouts

India based owners of Uniworth Group of India has sold off Airotech Holdings and John Gladstone (Dyers & Finisers) based in Huddersfield for an undisclosed sum, raising prospects of Yorkshire's flagging textile industry.
Besides retaining jobs and staff, the new owners plan to grow business.
Dealing mainly in branded fabrics and garments, Airotech has buyers spread as far as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Middle and Far East and Japan, apart from sizeable share in UK market.
Airotech has production facilities in India and China also and owns OMC and John Pepper Fine suit brands.
A dyer and finisher of woven fabrics, Gladstone has key interests in textile processing.
New owners have plans to expand the existing range of garments it manufactures and grow in US markets.
OMC brand will be featured at the Premiere Vision show in Paris next month, where European market gains prime exposure.
Airotech owns brand OMC Jerome and the deal shall ensure the company turns one of the leading worsted textile houses in the UK.
