As the fabric fairs for the Autumn/Winter 2006/07 season progress Wool is being highlighted, according to Textil Wirtschaft, as the 'amazing fibre' for the season.
Womenswear has a "Strong Wool Feeling” with key wool aspects in: • Wool with volume • Fluffy, Hairy • Flannel • Milled and Felted • Boiled Wool • Sportive Wool • English Wool Classics • Jacquards • Overprints
Mixed-Dressing is important with contrasts from sportive wool to elegance, with stylish fluid looks and high-tech aspects. Wool remains significant as the natural fibre trends continue, winter cotton is seen with a 'wool-touch' replicating wool's natural comfort properties.
Menswear is a season of "The Winter is Woolly" with a return to 'basics' which focuses on: • Flannels • Saxony's • Checks and Tweeds • Herringbones • Donegal's
Winter coats are once again fashionable and wool is the dominant fibre with fluffy, milled fabrics, Loden and fancy designs. Finishing techniques with wool such as boiling, milling, felting and British classics are interpreted in an Italian way. Again natural fibres prevail with 'wool-look' cotton casuals mimicking and complementing the aesthetics of the wool ranges.
