Nylon filament market anticipate a steady trend

Apr '08
In the past week, from March 31 to April 6, nylon filament market saw smaller trade turnover, with price barely steady, as companies shifted production to island yarn woven fabrics and nylon / polyester fabrics. Consumption of semi-dull FDY70D/24F filament from lower reaches decreased. Transactions of other varieties also indicated a decline.

From transaction trend in Shengze and Jiaxing markets, trade volume of mainstream semi-dull Nylon-6 FDY70D remained normal, due to abundant supply. Currently domestic market price of Nylon-6 FDY70D was at about 27300-27400 yuan per ton. Delivery volume of Nylon-6FDY140D/48F and 210D/36F was not large.

Weekly trade volume of dull filament slightly fell. Bright nylon filament showed usual sales volume. Semi-dull monofilament enlarged sales, of which 30 D/1F semi-dull nylon monofilament had better demand from downstream market.

From downstream situation, weaving enterprises indicated sign of declining operational rate, nylon filaments interlaced fabrics were also in poor demand with few orders. But prices of semi-dull nylon chips remained stable, which in turn is expected to support nylon filament market. Nylon filament market is anticipated to maintain a steady trend next week.
