Textile & apparel segment sets high targets for future

May '08
Observing the rising demand in the international market for Vietnamese textile and apparel products, the industry has set an ambitious production target for itself.

The sector expects an annual growth of 16 to 18 percent by 2010 in production; at the same time, anticipate an export surge of 20 percent during this period.

Experts analyze that the exports of Vietnamese products to different countries has earned the country high revenue which has attributed to such high export target.

Vietnamese General Customs Department currently released a statistics of exporting price of products in week from May 5 to 9, 2008.

Products like sports wear and shoes, kids and men's t-shirt, were exported to regions like Taiwan, Netherlands and Turkey.
