TTF helps clothes enterprises enter China

It has been noted that clothes import of Taiwan has been increasing considerably with average annual growth of over 10 percent. In 2007 the clothes import value of the country reached US $1.153 billion, registering year-on-year growth of 12.4 percent.

Considering this situation, the market share and profits of local enterprises is decreasing rapidly, forcing them to seek international markets.

Thus, lately, China Mainland has emerged as one of the key promising export markets for Taiwanese clothing enterprises.

Recognizing this, Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) has established cooperative relations with China Commercial Council of General Merchandise, some department stores and few related organizations, in order to help local clothes enterprises to enter and penetrate China Mainland.

This step has been beneficial to the industry and has already showing positive results.

For instance, in March 2008, TTF gathered some clothes enterprises to display their clothes in Chengdu and Tianjing city of China, where they received impressive response.

Reportedly, Taiwan's clothes enterprises will showcase their best products in Beijing city this November.

Besides, TTF also plans to hold a clothes exhibition together with the Government of Taiwan in early September. Many buyers, agents, and the related organizations of China Mainland will be invited to take part, here.
