November 4, 2008 Moscow will host the biggest fashion event in Eastern Europe - Russian Fashion Week (RFW). Past years have established Russian Fashion Week as a major date on the world's fashion calendar, just behind New York, London, Milan and Paris.

Over 60 fashion designers from Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Latvia, Spain and Italy will showcase spring/summer 2009 collections at the main RFW venue at the Congress-Hall of the respectable World Trade Center in downtown.

For the first time in Russia and exclusively at Russian Fashion Week, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand will present SIRIVANNAVARI Spring/Summer 2009 Women's Ready-to-Wear Collection.

The collection 'Ethnic Rock', has already won the podiums of Paris, will be showcased throughout all the Fashion Week at the venue of RFW. The opening of Her Royal Highness' exhibition on October, 28 will start Russian Fashion Week season Spring-Summer 2009.

This season Russian Fashion Week goes far behind catwalk shows by hosting parties and receptions, art and fashion exhibitions, fashion business seminars with international speakers and charity galas.

RFW produces 111 events in Moscow including catwalk shows just in 8 days of the fashion week. The overwhelming majority of the events will be aired on satellite World Fashion Channel and in Internet.

Russian Fashion Week in Moscow showcases most famous and edgy Russian and former Soviet Union designers: Tatiana Parfionova, Julia Dalakian, Elena Souproun, Serguei Teplov, Cyrille Gassiline, Oleg Ovsiev for Viva Vox, Elena Makashova, Masha Sharoeva, Chistova&Endourova, Anastasia Z, SUDARYANTO, Yulia Nikolaeva, Olga Deffi, MainAim, Vika Gazinskaya, Leonid Alexeev, Personage, Olga Samoschenko, Liudmila Norsoian, Katia Mossina and more.

A supporter of young talents, RFW will feature a show of the winner of Lamanova Competition, Russia's nation-wide fashion contest for young designers. The Lamanova Competition Grand-Prix - St. Petersburg-based designer Tatiana Usoltseva – will present her debut collection on RFW catwalk.

“We are searching for new talents all year around, says RFW Producer General Alexander Shumsky. Our key concern is to support the growing Russian fashion community.”

RFW show schedule includes a number of international participants as usual. The fashion week will be opened with a show by Maria Vlasova, the headliner of Riga Fashion Week. On October 31 the RFW audience will be wowed by Italian brand Alessandro de Benedetti.

The honored guest of Italian show will be President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana Mario Boselli. Mr. Boselli comes to Moscow especially for the joint press conference with Alexander Shumsky to announce mutual activities between RFW and Milano Moda Donna dedicated to young Russian and Italian designers.

On November 1 and November 3 the RFW audience will witness the Spanish Custo Barcelona and Toni Francesc shows respectively.
