Sep '09
Ethylene prices for Asia and Europe which had fallen on September 16 continued the trend yesterday too, while in the US markets, prices continued to gain in momentum set in the last few weeks.

Prices in CFR Northeast Asia fell back from US $946-951 per metric ton recorded on September 16, to $914-916 per metric ton on September 23. CFR Southeast prices too followed suit and declined from $1046-1051 per metric ton to $1034-1036 per metric ton.

Ethylene prices of FD Northwest Europe and CIF Northwest also obliged their Asian counterparts to descend on Wednesday. FD Northwest Europe declined from €813-817 per metric ton to €805-810 per metric ton, while ethylene prices of CIF Northwest too plummeted from $1,000-1,010 per metric ton to US $990-1000 per metric ton.

In face of prices falling across all global markets, ethylene prices have proved otherwise in the US markets in the last few weeks. Ethylene prices in the US rose from US cent 30.755-31.255 per pound on September 16, to US cent 31.505-31.755 per pound, yesterday.
