4,200 workers of JK Jute mill are still living in uncertainty as the temporarily suspension of work at the mill is still on. The fate of these workers would be decided after the tripartite meeting that is slated on April 13.
However, a meeting held recently at Labour Commissioner's office between mill workers and the management remained futile. During this meeting, the management put a condition that the meeting with the workers would be held further if they agreed to the productivity norms fixed by the management.
Uncertainties regarding this issue are growing, as the chances of work resumption are very few. This is increasing suspicions among the workers. So far, the management has not given any reason for work suspension, according to a union leader.
