Island filament price trends stable

In the just concluded week, (May 3 to 9), island filament in Shengze market remained stable, although was in a vulnerable state. Market prices of island composite yarn DTY 215D was around 17,000-17,200 Yuan / ton.
Island composite filament DTY105D/36F × 37 stood at 19,600-19,800 Yuan / ton, unchanged from the previous week.
DTY yarn 105D, 215D and 225D, DTY filament 160D and 180D still commanded good demand in Shengze market in the week, as the products are used to make suede fabrics, which have wider demand in home textile market.
Offers of island FDY 50D and 75D were at 17,500 Yuan / ton and 16,500 Yuan / ton, respectively in Shengze market, unchanged from the previous week.
Suede fabrics continue to perform well in sales, although its sales trend in apparel fabrics has declined. Operation rate of jet weaving machines producing suede fabrics has slightly increased. Island composite filament market is expected to remain stable.
