Paraxylene prices turned weak by US $10 / ton, due to weak downstream demand. PX price hovered in the range of $1015 – 1020 / ton in S E Asian market. In F E Asian market traded range for PX was of $1025 – 1030 / ton.
PTA prices fell down as demand turned weak and supply remained at a standstill. In S E Asian and F E Asian market PTA was assessed at around $880 / ton and $895 / ton, respectively.
In S E Asian ethylene market, prices declined $5 / ton compared with the previous trading day and assessed in the range of $1245 – 1250 / ton. While in N E Asian market ethylene traded at around $1290 / ton, losing $10 / ton.
MEG prices fell down for one more day. Immense price fall was noticed in MEG market. In S E Asian market prices hovered in the range of $785 – 795 / ton, down by $30 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price was in the range of RMB 6900 – 7000 / ton.
The PET Chips market is expected to witness a slight downward correction. Price of PET Chip was in the range of $1150 – 1155 / ton. According to an expert, price of PET Chip should be around $1220 / ton as per cost calculation.
