Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal (FHAN), has decided to establish an export cell in the coming fiscal year.
Bikash Ratna Dhakwa, President of FHAN said that, they are active on the front of developing the cell with professionals specializing in foreign business.
The cell will not only be of help in popularizing the Nepali handicrafts in global markets, but it would also help find newer markets and wares for the handicraft sector in Nepal, averred Dhakwa.
The cell would serve as a counsellor for the handicraft exporters, advising them amongst others on product enhancement. As of now, handicraft items lead the list of country's export merchandises.
Thangkas paintings, Khukuri Knives, Pashmina, Buddhist ritual items, silver jewellery, musical instruments, singing bowl, mask, prayer wheel, incense, woollen products, carpets, woodcrafts, handmade paper, horn/bone products, metal crafts, wood craft and Nepali silk products, are few products that have found place amongst the key handicraft items of Nepal.
