Remaining obstacles to trade, such as high tariffs and other non-tariff barriers, with third countries are of major concern to the EU Commission and EU industry.
With the aim of seeking significant reduction or elimination of tariffs and/or non-tariff barriers the Commission is pursuing these issues in the context of bilateral negotiations in the WTO (DDA - Doha Development Agenda).
The EU Commission is additionally actively seeking to address IPR (Intellectual property rights) problems encountered by EU industry in third country markets.
