FSHL-CEF: 'Paint a Wish, Make a Utopia' raise fund

With full support from fabric supplier Fountain Set (Holdings) Limited (Fountain Set-FSHL), a fundraising event “Paint a Wish, Make a Utopia” was successfully organized by the Children Education Fund (CEF). Funds were raised for the CEF to help improve education facilities in Mainland China for under-privileged children, supporting activities for school fee sponsorship and school reconstruction.

“Paint a Wish, Make a Utopia” was organized by the CEF and GRAV (a group of students studying English for Professional Communication in the City University of Hong Kong).

The purpose of this charity was enabling Hong Kong primary students to develop their creativity and potential; to learn teamwork and team spirit through the T-shirt painting competition and other activities. The students also had the opportunity to learn more about the lives of under-privileged children in Mainland China, and to treasure more of what they have.

Funds were raised for the CEF after deducting expenses incurred. Around 150 primary students in Hong Kong participated in the T-shirt painting competition. Their creative ideas were painted onto T-shirts manufactured from “fabric by Fountain Set” (and donated by Fountain Set).

Winning creations were judged, and the winners paraded in a catwalk show – wearing their T-shirts – in an opening ceremony held last month.

Mr Pan CHEUNG, Director of PR and Marketing of Children Education Fund, stated, “Established in 2001, CEF has been very focused in helping poor children receive proper education in Guangxi, China. Currently, CEF is still a small scale, low profile charity organization which is in need of corporate sponsorship and individual voluntary participation.”
