Wacker to present at “Supplier of the Year” at 2006 International Conf

Munich-based Wacker Chemie AG and its North American subsidiary, Wacker Chemical Corporation, received top recognition at the recently concluded 2006 Global Gypsum Conference held in Cancun, Mexico. Among several industry peers, WACKER was awarded “Supplier of the Year” in the raw materials supplier category. The award recognizes suppliers for excellence in quality materials, technical and customer support and for innovative technology.

An international panel comprised of companies from the UK, France, Germany and the United States conducted the judging of the first “Global Gypsum Awards” ever to be held at the annual conference. Winners of the competition included British Plaster Board (Supplier's Wallboard Company of the Year), Georgia-Pacific's DensGlass products (Product of the Year), United States Gypsum Company's Rainier plant (Wallboard Plant of the Year) and WACKER (Supplier of the Year). WACKER was particularly recognized for its SILRES® BS 94 product quality and performance, excellence in hands-on technical, sales and customer support and for its service through its global distribution network.

WACKER has been an active member and participant in the Global Gypsum Conference since the concept was born in 1999. The conference provides an internationally recognized forum for suppliers and customers to convene, network and engage exhibitors. The primary focus is on the variety and scope of the technical and commercial presentations. It is these presentations that have provided the nucleus for discovering solutions for applications involving gypsum-based products in virtually every corner and region of the world.
