Outdoor Connect Ltd, which specializes in launching and marketing high performance sportswear and outdoor clothing brands, has been appointed as sales agent.
“U.K. retailers are proving to be very receptive to our products, which appeal to the i-pod generation. We soon will be expanding distribution into Germany and the rest of Europe, followed by Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Singapore,” said Qaizar Hassonjee, Textronics' Chief Commercial Officer.
“Right now, we are in the process of identifying partners in Europe and Asia to represent our NuMetrex line of sports apparel as well as other Textronics applications for medical, electronics and consumer markets.”
Textronics is a leader in the development and production of electro-textiles or “e-textiles,” which are fabric systems integrated with micro-electronics that can conduct, warm, illuminate or sense. The company's unique product solutions are based on technology that includes conductive elastic yarns, variable resistive polymers, flexible conductive interconnect cables, and physiological monitoring sensors and garments.
In 2005, Textronics introduced the NuMetrex Heart Sensing Sports Bra, the first consumer garment to incorporate heart rate monitoring technology into the knit of the garment itself. In addition to sports, apparel and wellness applications, the company's technology has applicability in markets such as medical, military, transportation, and electronics.
Textronics works with partners in these industries to develop electro-textile solutions that offer enhanced comfort, safety, efficiency, wellness, aesthetics, entertainment and communications. The company is a spin-off from INVISTA S.a.r.l., formerly DuPont Textiles and Interiors.
