Loaded with 100 cargo containers carrying motorcycles, vehicle brackets, and other commodities worth $3.1 million, the train is expected to reach the Dutch city after a 22-day-long journey. The train will be bringing Dutch-made goods such as newsprint, electronic instruments, and medical equipment on its way back to Jinhua.
The train’s departure marked the launch of the first China-Europe freight train from Zhejiang to the Netherlands as well as the departure of the 400th China-Europe freight train managed by Jinhua this year, said the China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co Ltd, according to official Chinese media.
The China-Europe freight train service was launched in Jinhua in 2017. Until now it has handled 22 China-Europe freight train routes, which link over 120 cities. Jinhua had 368 inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains, which transported 30,368 containers of goods, in the first half of this year — a year-on-year increase of 8 per cent.
