Hellenic Fabrics SA, based in New Pella, near Thessalonika in Northern Greece, is recognised as one of the top three denim producers in Europe and has ambitions to be the number one. But to reach this pinnacle the company recognises it must turn to new technology and solutions such as the recent installation of the first innovative denim finishing line.
Ambitious plans by Greece's Hellenic Fabrics to become Europe's leading denim producer were enforced with the delivery of the first, recently introduced, Monforts denim finishing line.
It is today recognised as one of the top three companies in Europe producing more than 20 million metres/year.
Perflex 2005 saw the introduction by Hellenic Fabrics of a new denim, Perflex. Described as a premium brand of high performance stretch denim it guarantees dimensional stability, constant recovery factor and optimal abrasion resistance.
It also offers minimal shrinkage after washing and minimal wrinkling and colour transfer.
The fabric launch was an immediate success and to meet increased production demands, the company has again turned to Monforts with the recent installation of the first complete denim finishing line; ordered through local representative EKTE.
New denim finishing technique New technology and techniques developed by Monforts has made the finishing process easier and more effective for denim producers, eliminating some of the traditional processes.
At the heart of Hellenic's installation an elevated Thermex 6500 is an all-new loop dryer available with an integral stretching unit for denim treatment.
