Lawson Software improves business Opts of Fort Bend County

"With Lawson, our employees and our investments are more productive, which allows us to devote more resources toward addressing the needs of our constituents," said Ed Sturdivant, County Auditor, Fort Bend County.
"Since completing our Lawson system rollout, we've improved our ability to manage our cash flows and cash requirements and to accurately and quickly complete business processes. Based on our initial experience, we estimate we'll be able to enhance revenue and accelerate our cost-savings by a combined $4.9 million over the next 3.5 years."
The county also uses the Lawson system to help deliver time and cost savings within its accounts payable and purchasing departments. The system helped the county decrease its payment cycle from 30 to 15 days, enabling it to take greater advantage of vendor discounts based on faster payments.
"Local governments need comprehensive business systems to help address constituents' expectations for transparency and accountability," said Alex Kaplan, practice director, Public Services, Lawson Software.
"Fort Bend County showed extraordinary preparation and dedication to achieve all that has been accomplished in twelve months through the use of Lawson solutions. By helping to reduce the complexity of its administrative environment and improving business processes, Lawson is again demonstrating that we deliver more value per dollar invested than other ERP suppliers."
Lawson serves more than 120 public services customers, including three of the top seven digital state governments and four of the 25 largest school districts in the United States. State governments, cities, counties, school districts, publicly owned utilities/authorities and special districts rely on Lawson solutions to help meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders - constituents, employees, students, vendors and communities - while helping to maximize limited budgets.
