Denizli, a province to the south-west of Turkey, which draws great economic advantages from textile trade, is eyeing to position itself amongst world's leading swimwear manufacturing centres.
Recognized as a producer and supplier of premium quality bathrobes and towels to local market, the province is now aiming to establish itself as a leading producer of swimsuits across the globe.
The Denizli Textile and Ready-Wear Industrialists' Association (DETGIS) has announced an international textile design competition in the province. The Association is presently trying to obtain the required licence from the Turkish authorities as it proposes to initiate a competition within the sector. Such a competition, besides benefiting the textile and apparel sector would also aid the Turkish producers and exporters to earn a better exposure and recognition in the global market.
Around 50 designers have already applied for taking part in the competition.
