Golf Galaxy to expand operations in Missouri
Oct '13
Golf Galaxy, a full-line, interactive golf retailer, announces its plans to open its second retail location in Missouri. The grand opening celebration is slated for November 1-3, in Chesterfield, MO.

"Whether you're a scratch player or have a 20 handicap, play once a week or twice per year, you can get the full Tour Pro experience at the new Chesterfield Golf Galaxy," said Doug Wurl, president, Golf Galaxy. "We are proud to expand Golf Galaxy's presence and provide golfers of all ages and abilities with a PGA Tour-inspired experience, by delivering the best one-on-one attention, guidance, and support from our PGA professional staff."

Throughout the weekend, Golf Galaxy will host a variety of giveaways, competitions, and activities. Along with daily giveaways and promotions, an appearance by former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders—who will be competing against 25 lucky customers in a closest to the pin contest—is planned on November 2 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to attend the Golf Galaxy Grand Opening in Chesterfield, MO," said Sanders. "I have a strong passion for the game of golf and I can't wait to see the cool new store, meet some fans, and tee off against customers on the golf simulator!"

At the store, customers will be able to meet the store's PGA professionals, certified in-store club technicians; experience five hitting bays and an indoor demo range; and interact with the store's on-site, full-service 42-foot tour van. The one-of-a-kind tour van is modeled after club manufacturers' on-site PGA Tour vans.  The store also features a dedicated women's shop, a driving range, and a three-speed putting green.

Measuring over 32,000 square feet in size, the Chesterfield store is set to serve up the ultimate display in golf equipment, accessories, apparel, and clubs from a wide set of brands, including: TaylorMade, adidas, Titleist, Callaway, PING, Adams Golf, Cleveland Golf, NikeGolf, Cobra, PUMA, Under Armour, and Travis Mathew.
