Sperian Protection, the world leader in personal protective equipment (PPE), announced that its flagship brand, Uvex, has launched the Specifix collection of protective eyewear. The Specifix collection includes three new styles -- Uvex VersaPro, Uvex PrecisionPro and Uvex ExtremePro -- each designed to meet the unique needs of workers in the specific industries they serve. The entire collection features Uvex's revolutionary new Supra-Dura advanced anti-scratch coating that provides five times more scratch resistance than other coatings on the market. Each piece of Specifix eyewear inspires safety through high-performance protection, superior comfort and fit and exceptional value.

"We developed the Specifix collection based on extensive research and surveys of safety managers throughout the Americas, whose foremost hurdle was selecting the proper eyewear for the job among such a broad even overwhelming -- product spectrum," said David Iannelli, senior product manager for Uvex. "Because each Specifix style is designed for a specific work application, it has never been easier to choose the best-suited safety eyewear for any job."

Uvex VersaPro's streamlined, lightweight design provides optimal performance in light industrial applications where comfort and versatility are essential. The style is perfect for keeping workers safe during assembly line work, shipping, machine operation and other light manufacturing tasks. Its extended-wear comfort features and increased durability help keep workers safer because they wear their safety eyewear longer. Available with Uvextreme anti-fog coating or new Supra-Dura advanced anti-scratch coating, Uvex VersaPro provides excellent coverage, protection and value.

Uvex PrecisionPro combines a frameless design with precise optics to maximize vision and reduce distortion for jobs where seeing every detail in perfect clarity is critical. The style is ideally suited for applications such as quality control, inspection, lab work, aerospace, fine maintenance, cleanrooms and mechanics. Its specialized, task-specific SCT-Spectrum Control Technology lens tints optimize lighting and enhance visual perception. Available with Uvextreme anti-fog coating or Supra-Dura anti-scratch coating, Uvex PrecisionPro delivers ultra-lightweight design for all-day comfort.

Uvex ExtremePro stands up to the most extreme environments, making it ideal for work in foundries, chemical plants, metalworking, machining, pulp and paper, shipbuilding and oil and gas industries. Its MoistureWick brow accessory absorbs and wicks away perspiration to keep lenses clear in high heat and humidity. The style is available with Supra-Dura anti-scratch coating, Uvextreme Plus anti-fog coating or Dura-streme dual anti-fog/anti-scratch coating. Uvex ExtremePro lasts longer and performs better in rugged environments that demand site-specific eye protection.

In addition to Uvex's new Supra-Dura anti-scratch coating, the Specifix collection features FlexFit bendable temples and nosepieces for the most comfortable, customized fit and ratcheting temples that make it easy to adjust the lens angle for a close fit. Each piece of eyewear meets the ANSI Z87.1- 2003 (high impact) and CSA Z94.3 standards and comes with a lifetime frame guarantee.
