Expiry of Chinese quotas motivates textile industry

After the announcement made by EU to annul quota limit on Chinese textile and clothing, Morocco Textile Clothing Industry Association expressed its desire to increase exports to the region.
Morocco textile industry finds itself at an advantage because of its value added textile and clothing goods which is also affluent in terms of innovative designs. Earlier, the quota limit on China was greatly welcomed by Morocco since it had a relative hike in its exports.
In the year 2006, Morocco textile industry marked a surge of US $3.4 billion, but the recent cancellation of the quota limits on China is bound adversely affect the country's exports to EU.
Morocco will now have to try hard to retain its position in the region by providing quick response and services to the import demands made by EU.
Morocco textile industry has positive hopes that the REACH rules will limit the exports of Chinese textile and clothing to EU.
