LANXESS India hosts 38th annual national safety week

LANXESS India Private Limited celebrates “National Safety Week 2009" from 4th March – 10th March 2009. This week brings enthusiasm and motivation among employees to continue working safely without accident and ultimately reinforcing the commitment towards stringent safety measures adopted by LANXESS. LANXESS will continue its way to achieve total work safety in its organization.

To spread the safety awareness, a safety oath was taken by the LANXESS employees expressing their commitment to safety at the place of work. Inauguration of this National Safety Week was done on 4th March 2009 followed by flag hoisting, administering the safety pledge, putting safety banners and distributing safety badges among the employees, were the activities that were undertaken at the Thane and Madurai factory today. Various competitions like safety quiz, essay competition and slogan competition will also be conducted at the Madurai factory amongst the employees during this entire week.

On this occasion, Joerg Strassburger, Managing Director and Country Representative, LANXESS India Private Limited, said, “2008 was an accident-free year for LANXESS India. This shows that LANXESS India not only practices safety and environmental protection procedures but also believes that a company can operate successfully by complying with these requirements and better its image and reputation. As one of the leading global chemical companies, safety within the organization becomes an integral part of all our initiatives.”

Dattaprasad Talekar, Director, LANXESS India Private Limited, further added, “National Safety Week is important to organize as it will educate our employees about safety issues, generate awareness about the high safety standards practiced by LANXESS and promote the goal of making the environment increasingly safe for them.”
